Periodontics

Chronic and insidious disease affecting the tooth supporting apparatus, ie. damages the connection between teeth and surrounding tissues - bone and gums. Periodontal disease is one of the most common disease and it is considered that 90% of people older than 40 years suffer from some form of periodontitis. Periodontitis is characterized by: inflamed gums, periodontal pockets, naked necks of teeth, calculus, bloody and purulent discharge from periodontal pockets, dangling tooth and its migration.

Treatment of periodontitis is complexed and involves the elimination of the factors that led to the creation of the disease itself. Surgical methods are applied in addition to conservative treatment methods, all depending on the degree of periodontal tissue damage caused.
